Wow.... i'm really amazed at this..... POP YEH YEH has hit the big time!
Various Artists, Pop Yeh Yeh: Psychedelic Rock from Singapore and Malaysia 1964-1970 was featured in SPIN MAGAZINE's list of BEST BOX SETS and EXPANDED EDITIONS of 2013!
Kudos! I'm the greatest fan of Pop Yeh Yeh but have not heard some of the songs here. Can still remember listening the songs from transistor radios back in 1970 when I was a small kid. But how come The Hooks is not there? The Swallows and maybe The Strangers too? And Adnan Othman could fill up 13 songs! Don't forget to include them if you produce Vol 2
Wow.. you grew up with this music!!! that's wonderful!
Yes, I am also a fan of Romzi and the Hooks, Kassim Selamat and the Swallows, A Rahman Onn and the Strangers, and Adnan Othman!
We only included songs that were on independent labels - and from artists that we could contact! Many of the bigger labels like EMI and Philips didnt reply to my request for licensing of their catalogue.
But take another look, Adnan Othman has two songs on this CD!
Thanks for writing... I'll try to get some of these artists on Vol. 2 (we will do another one hopefully!)
bagus dapat lihat ia di sana !
